What makes a better combination than web geeks, snow and Canadian beer… that’s exactly what’s going on at Web Directions North.
The Aussies from down under have decided to bring their conference to the northern hemisphere. Tom Watson and Keith Robinson from Blue Flavor will be at the conference, the rest of us here at Blue Flavor will be joining the geeks after the conference for some snowboarding on Whistler.
The event includes presentations by such experts as Kelly Goto, Andy Clarke, Adrian Holovaty, Douglas Bowman, Dan Cederholm, Joe Clark, Molly Holzschlag, Derek Featherstone, Veerle Pieters, Jeremy Keith and more. Topics include Ajax and Javascript, CSS, Microformats, mashups, standards based web design and development, accessibility, web app development, XHTML and HTML and more. The first day is packed with workshops and the last two days are full of fun on the slopes of Whistler. I can’t think of a better way to enjoy Vancover.
Digital Web Magazine also has a snowboard design contest where you can win a two-day full conference pass and one day at Whistler plus a ton of other cool prizes from Media Temple, Adobe, Lynda.com, Studiometry, Bare Bones Software, istockphoto, Apress, friends of Ed, New Riders/Peach Pit Press, moleskinerie, naature, and Mark Boulton.
Hurry, tickets are going fast so register today and we will see you there!
Great to hear you’ll be in attendance! I’m really excited to join everyone up there.
I’ve even created a mashed up blog/feed of all the speakers who are going to be keeping the conversations lively up there: <a href=”http://www.google.com/reader/shared/user/17669672358600732011/label/web-directions-north” rel=”nofollow”>http://www.google.com/reader/shared/user/17669672358600732011/label/web-directions-north</a>
Where are you planning on staying during your visit to Vancouver? I’m not familiar with the town and could use a recommendation from someone who knows the area (better than I). -bd
